Training for Emerging Countries

 
  • Master in Banking and Finance for Development 11 month, full-time, intensive Master degree course. First edition in 1984/85; 291 participants from, African (33 countries), Asian, Latin American countries, and Italy.
  • Training Course in Banking 8 month, full-time residential course. Started in 1967 and attended by 1221 participants from 52, of which 49 African countries.
  • Advanced Course in the Economics of Banking 3 month full-time residential course. Started in 1974. 19 editions so far for 725 participants from 59 countries, of 48 African.
  • Seminar on Agricultural Credit 6-week residential course. First edition in 1979; 439 participants from 45 African countries.
 
In addition to the courses already mentioned, the Foundation organizes ad hoc training programs featured on the specific needs of the requesting institutions. Among the ones held in the past at the Foundation we may list:
 
  • Specialization courses in Banking for the People's Republic of China (1981, 1982, 1983, 1984, 1985/86; for 163 participants); Seminars on New Bank Strategies for managers of developing countries' banks;
  • Courses on International Trade Financing for the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Uganda (1981/82), and of People's Republic of China (1983/84);
  • Training of Trainers courses for development finance institutes, in collaboration with EDI (Economic Devcelopment Institute) of The World Bank and with AIAFD (1989, 1990);
  • Course on Development Economics for Spanish and Portuguese-speaking Developing countries (1991/92);
  • Seminar on The Development of Small and Medium Enterprises for Central American countries partners to B.C.I..E. (1991);
  • Course on The Bank and SMEs Financing, for Ethiopia and Eritrea (1995);
  • Course on Audit, for officials of the Caisse Nationale d'Epargne et Prèvoyance of Algeria (1997);
  • Course on Rural Credit Management, for Algeria, sponsored by FAO, (1998);
  • 2-week seminar on International Finance for officials of the People's Bank of China (1998)
  • 2-week seminar on Bank Management for officials of the Agricultural Bank of China (1998)
  • 6-month course on Bank Management for junior managers of the Agricultural Bank of China (1999/2000);
  • 2-week course on Small and Medium Enterprises for 10 Egyptian bank officers, sponsored by Regione Lombardia and operated with Finlombarda and Promos (1999);
  • 2-week course on International Trade for 13 bank officers coming for Chinese financial institutions and from the network of Banca Intesa in China: The course has been financed by Banca Intesa;
  • Euro-Arab Management Diploma - EAMD, organized with State University of Turin-SAA; a distance-learning training program for managers, entrepreneurs and participants wishing to acquire competences in the entrepreneurial culture of the Arab world and interested to the economic relations between Europe and the Arab countries (2001);
  • Training of Tunisian bank officers, in Tunisia; financed by ICE in collaboration with Intesa Formazione (2003).
