Training Opportunities for Italy

In recent years the Foundation started a training activity in favour of a domestic audience. The most significant initiative has been the first edition of the Master im Microfinance, open also to foreign students.

  • Master in Microfinance, first edition for 26 participants: 14 Italians and 12 coming from Africa, Asia, and Latin America, in co-operation with CIPSI and co-financed by Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs/Directorate General for Development Cooperation-Office VII (NGOs). The course started in April and ended in November 2002. The inititative has been successful both in terms of students' appreciation and of positive comments outside the Foundation. In particular, the outstanding level and worldwide reputation of the international experts called to teach was a key element in the achievement of such a positive result.

Among the short courses addressed to Italian students we point out:

  • two editions of the course NGOs Operators in collaboration with CIPSI (1998/1999);
  • a series of seminars on the Fundamentals of Development Economics always in collaboration with ISPI (2000, 2001) attended mostly by participants of the Milan area: - NGOs and Development ( two editions) - Microfinance and Development - Development Projects (two editions) - Africa, an unknown continent
