Training for Transitional Countries |

| Starting from the 90s, the Foundation has organized numerous programs with more than one thousand participants coming from banks and economic annd financial ministries in transitional countries: |

- Six-months Master Course in Banking and Finance, (editions: 1995, 1996, 1997, 1999,2001, 2002; 149 participants).
- Course on Small and Medium-size Business Financing by the Banking System and the Role of Capital Markets in Transitional Economies for bank officials of C.I.S. and Hungary (1992; 16 participants);
- Course on Banks and SMEs Financing, 1994, in the framework of Iniziativa Centro Europea (1994);
- 10-days seminar on Payment System, 1994, designed for the National Bank of Ukraine, attended by a group of 27 bank management officials.
- Two-weeks seminar on Bank Lending Policies, Bank Organization and International Finance, for 17 top management officials from Lithuanian Banks (1995, 17 participants);
- Seminar on Operations of Savings Banks, 1995, for 25 middle-managers of the Savings Banks of Albania (2 weeks);
- Course on Bank Management, for 15 managers of the National Commercial Bank of Albania (1995, 4 weeks);
A series of two-week Residential Courses on the Operational Aspects of Banking, developed with Sberbank, the Savings Bank of Russia (1994/95, 50 participants);
- 1-month seminar on Bank Management, for the Albania Rural Commercial Bank (1996; 19 participants);
- 3-week seminar on Banking Managerial Functions, for the National Commercial Bank of Albania (1996; 20 participants);
- PHARE-DEDAC Training Programme on Aid Co-operation Tools and Project Financing, July 1996, 2-week course for 10 middle managers of the Department of Economic Development for Aid Co-operation of the Council of Ministries of Albania.
- PHARE-DEDAC Training Programme on Medium-Term Economic Programming and Project Financing, July 1996, a 2-week course for 10 middle managers of the Department of Economic Development for Aid Co-operation of the Council of Ministries of Albania;
- Seminar on the Operational Aspects of Savings Banks, August 1996, a 2-week programme for 22 officials of the Savings Bank of Albania;
- Advanced Course on Loan Management, a 3-week course for middle managers of the Rural Commercial Bank of Albania in the framework of the E.U. - Phare Programme (February 1997; 20 participants);
- A training module of 4 courses (Information Systems in Banks, International Trade Financing, Economics of Banking, Training of Trainers), for the National Bank of Ukraine (1998; 80 participants);
- one-week seminar on Agricultural Credit for managers of agricultural credit institutes coming from transitional countries, organized with FAO (1997; 10 participants);
- Seminar on Bank Management, for the National Commercial Bank of Albania (998,15 participants);
- Course on Auditing for officials of the State Control Service of the Republic of Albania, (1998, 6 participants);
- A training module of 4 courses (Training of Trainers in Rural Credit Management, Rural Credit Management-2 editions, Investment Analysis for Agroindustries) for the Lithuanian Banking, Finance and Insurance Institute (1998; 80 participants);
- A training module of five 3-week courses on Asset and Liability Management, Bank Marketing, Bank Risk Management, Bank Audit and Control, Credit Management for the Moldavian Banking Association, certified by a final evaluation mission (2002, 100 participants);
- A two-week seminar on Bank Management for Albanian bank officers (2002, 13 participants).

- the Senior Policy Seminar in collaboration with the World Bank and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on "Macroeconomic Management in a Volatile Financial Environment" (1999);
- the training program on "Competitive Environmental Advantage: Managing Environmental
Risk in the Emerging Capital Markets" (editions in 1999 and 2000) in collaboration with the
International Finance Corporation, Environmental Division;
- the Conference "L'integrazione economico-finanziaria fra l'Unione Eeuropea e i paesi dell'Europa Centrale ed Orientale", in collaboration with the State University of Pavia and the Polo d'Eccellenza Jean Monnet (1999)

| With the aim to keep alive the bonds of frienship established with the students, many follow-up seminars were organised at regional level in different countries to give the alumni an opportunity to meet and work on specific subjects of interest for their profession. These events had the patronage of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and of the local monetary and financial authorities (Nairobi, 1980; Cairo, 1981; Conakry, 19082; Lagos, 1984; Accra, 1985, Antananarivo, 1985; Beijing, 1986; Tunis, 1988; Algiers, 1990; Arusha, 1991; Beijing, 1998). |
